About us
Serving Duck and Corolla since 2011!
The Outer Banks has been our home for 30 years now. We've seen the landscape change, and people come and go. We opened our original store Kitty Hawk Cycle Co. in 2003 and have been renting bikes and watersports gear since then - 22 seasons! Our former location on East Eckner Street was redeveloped, in 2017, and we took the KHCC rental business online.
We always loved Duck. When Michael first moved to the beach in 1992, he worked as a fish cutter at Dockside n' Duck. Pam worked for years at The Roadside Bar & Grill and the now closed Elizabeth's Cafe in Scarborough Faire. We always knew that if the opportunity came a knockin', we would love to open a second store in Duck. Well, it did, and here we are!
We opened Duck Cycle Rentals in the Summer of 2011 in downtown Duck. We grew our fledgling second store, and enjoyed eight years of business at our location. In winter 2019, we had the opportunity to relocate to the Sanderling area in North Duck. We're getting settled in ( thanks Covid!) and are looking forward to another busy summer season. We're continually grateful to call the Outer Banks our home, and hope to share this beautiful place with our guests. Cheers! Pam and Michael
